About The Gastonian

The Gastonian is located at 220 East Gaston Street in Savannah’s beautiful historic district. It is comprised of two adjacent mansions, built in 1868. They were constructed of local handmade bricks and then stuccoed white in clean-lined Regency-Italianate style. The freestanding house at 220 East Gaston Street was built for Savannah insurance broker R. H. Footman, and the one next door, 218 East Gaston Street, was built for wholesale grocer Aaron Champion.

Furnished with English antiques, the Inn affords nineteenth century ambiance coupled with modern comfort and service including high-speed Internet access in each guest room. Each of the Inn’s large and beautifully appointed guest rooms features either a king, a queen, or two full beds. All rooms have private baths, working fireplaces, individually controlled heating and cooling systems, telephones, and cable televisions. Some rooms feature luxurious whirlpool baths while others feature either charming claw-footed tubs or walk-in showers. A beautifully restored formal garden (one of only seventeen remaining in historic Savannah) and a secluded walled garden add to the essence of the Gastonian.
