"This was our first experience at a bed and breakfast and it was wonderful! We always felt we were important. Everyone was so kind and helpful. We even slept great starting on the first night. We will definitely come back again to enjoy Savannah and definitely stay at the Gastonian again. Thank you for everything you did to make our trip enjoyable."  --October 4, 2013

"This was quite a unique experience. The staff is great, the breakfast is made to order, the afternoon Tea and Wine, and evening Dessert set this place aside from others. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. We had no problems the 5 days we resided at this property. The décor is very southern charmed. There is a free bus shuttle you can take from this location to downtown and the river market area.  There is free parking at this site,  but limited. Come and enjoy a relaxed atmosphere! We did~"  --October 1, 2013

"I truly enjoyed The Gastonian. I had room 107, which is on the ground level and had its own private courtyard, with koi pond and a swing. Very quiet; heard no street noise at all. Wonderful bed and pillows -- tried to figure out how to get one of the pillows in my suitcase to take home, but just couldn't manage it (I'm joking). The Towels were large and plush. The room was very clean and enjoyable. The staff was pleasant and helpful. Location is great. I was attending a wedding in Chippewa Park, which was walkable (about 15-20 minutes), although I took a "pedicab" as it was 95 degrees and humid! All-in-all a great 2 days" --September 3, 2013

"This lovely and comfortable B&B right in the heart of the historic district of Savannah is not to be missed.  Its only drawback is the flights of stairs one must climb in order to reach the impeccable rooms.  Everything about this inn is delightful. Our room was lovely and comfortable (and clean); there was an afternoon tea and conversation with other guests and dessert in the evening for those who chose more delicious food and conversation.  The breakfast is divine. Each evening, a menu for breakfast is delivered to the room for the guest's selection.  When you arrive for breakfast, your selected menu item is prepared.  The inn is located within walking distance of the visitor's center and close to a good,  informal restaurant in addition of great walks around the neighborhood.  We're so glad we chose this inn for a stay in Savannah."                   --August 31, 2013

"Savannah and the Gastonian were perfect for the first reunion weekend of three high school friends after many years. We hope this is the standard for future trips. Every review mentions the staff, and their friendliness and helpfulness are also at the top of our list. James, Mario and Lakeshia invited us into "their" kitchen to sit at one of the small tables set up there, and visiting with them while eating their wonderful breakfasts was the perfect way to start our day. And the food just kept coming; hors d'ouvers at 4:30 and dessert at 8 were too good to pass up. We walked our feet off for three days, and it was very relaxing to meet and talk with other guests before dinner each night. We reserved both a double double and a queen, which was good because the claw-foot tub was too high for an older person (me) to climb into, so we all used the walk-in shower in the double-double. It was 90 each day, so those showers were important. The garden between the two buildings was lovely. ... A terrific trip." --June 20, 2013

"Wow, what a night! My husband & I just spent last night at the Gastonian B&B to celebrate our 29th wedding anniversary! The staff were all very welcoming, attentive, & charming. We had a gorgeous suite overlooking the beautiful courtyard, as well as lovely Gaston street! The evening wine & appetizers were scrumptious, & so was the breakfast this AM. We found champagne & desserts in our room last night with a card from the staff wishing us a happy anniversary! Needless to say, we didn't want to leave! Hoping we'll be able to return for our 30th next year!" --June 10, 2013

"You can't ask for a more delightful place to stay in Savannah! Every person on the staff is genuinely interested in making your visit enjoyable and does their best to take care of your needs throughout your stay. We chose the Gastonian because it is located away from the frenzy of the riverfront area and is a short walk to Forsyth Park which has 20+ acres of greenery and a beautiful fountain. Plan on doing plenty of walking during your stay in order to burn off some of the calories from the goodies that the Gastonian provides. In addition to a generous breakfast menu with many selections (including fantastic grits!) the staff also provides a nice array of hors d' oeuvres and wine in the afternoon followed up by cakes, coffee, tea, port and sherry in the evening after dinner...and of course cookies with the turndown service. In the future, if anyone asks where they should stay when visiting Savannah our answer will always be: "Stay at the Gastonian!" --May 20, 2013

"“WOW WOW WOW!”The best way to sum this place up is the title - I said and thought "WOW" a dozen times while coming, staying, and leaving the Gastonian. First - the G itself: gorgeous, light, bright atmosphere - parlor, kitchen, living room area (for lack of a better word) on the first floor when you first walk in - and sheer elegance! (Not over the top gawdy elegance!) I just felt incredible from the second we walked in. Our Room: Amazing! Huge! Gorgeous! We teased that we were going back to our "apartment" after sightseeing. The working fireplace and "shared" balcony (that we actually had all to ourself and which we used for appetizers and dessert) really put this room over the top. Also, double sinks a HUGE plus. Another WOW was how clean our room was every afternoon. I mean, I expect the room to be clean, but Shawn Tray (thanks, girl!) did a really spectacular job - it was like we were walking in for the first time every time we came back. Again, a wonderful feeling. Oh, and turn-down service with fresh-baked cookies on your pillows! The people: Lovely lovely! When we came in for afternoon appetizers, cold water and coffee was offered (much appreciated, Walter!), in addition to the appetizers and wine they had set out. The women who checked us in and out were lovely, too. Just wonderful. The food: breakfast is really fantastic. It is not just a plain breakfast - you have several options, and they were really very good. And the coffee is good coffee! (I think that's almost impossible to get in B&Bs, hotels, etc., so I was really pleasantly surprised and thankful for that!) Also, fantastic apps and wine in the afternoon. The G doesn't just throw some mediocre food on a plate to offer you just anything - they had lovely appetizers and good wine. The port and sherry and dessert were also fantastic, and one of my favorite things. One night we sat in the parlor and enjoyed these treats, another night, we went onto our balcony. The location: about 1.5 blocks from Forsyth Park - which I LOVED. I woke up each morning and ran a couple miles around the park (I'm not even a runner). It's set in the Victorian district, I think (definitely double-check if this is important to you), and everything around it is just stunning. The only thing bad I can say is that this place will set your expectations so high, the next place you stay can only disappoint. (This happened to us! The place we stayed in Charleston did not have any wow factor - and was $140 more a night.) I dream of going back to Savannah mostly so I can stay at the Gastonian again. It was just an unbelievably wonderful stay. Thank you so much, G employees - you started our southern vaca off in the best way imaginable, and we appreciate it so much!" --April 21, 2013

"Spent four days and three nights at the Gastonian this week. Everything about the home was warm and inviting. You truly felt as though you were staying at the home of a relative or close friend. Loved how they encouraged us to treat the home as our own, especially the kitchen. The weather was perfect for breakfast in the pergalla area (under the blooming wisteria). Thanks for the staff for making us feel so special!!! Everything about the property enhanced our first visit to Savannah and we plan to return to the city AND this property."  --April 11, 2013

"My husband and I spent five lovely days at The Gastonian. The house was decorated beautifully. The staff was exceptional throughout our stay. We enjoyed a full breakfast , afternoon wine & hors d'oeuvres, as well as dessert and port/sherry each day. The location was absolutely perfect. I would highly recommend staying at The Gastonian for your visit to Savannah!!"  --April 5, 2013
