“The Place to Stay”
We recently spent 3 days in Savannah and had the pleasure of staying at The Gastonian. It is a beautifully maintained inn on a quiet street in the historic district. The room was truly lovely, clean and comfortable. The private balcony overlooking Gaston Street added to the charm. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful. Southern hospitality was also evident in the large breakfasts, cocktail hour and evening desserts. The Gastonian sets a very high standard. It was wonderful to be a guest.Reviewed by ShB2014 on 2018 via Tripadvisor
“Delightful small hotel in Victorian District”
Three girlfriends and I stayed three nights at the Gastonian (Feb. 2018) to celebrate our milestone birthdays. What a lovely place! From the time I made the reservation to our checkout, the staff couldn't have been friendlier and more helpful--and I mean the entire staff. Our two rooms were charming, although our bath (203) could use an update. The beds are comfortable and morning coffee was delivered hot to our rooms promptly with a phone call to the desk. The breakfasts were delicious and the hours of service are liberal. We really enjoyed relaxing with the complimentary wine and snacks at the end of an afternoon of touring. Located on a charming street. the Gastonian is walkable to lots of places and getting an Uber to go further afield is no problem. I look forward to returning with my husband for a stay in Savannah in the future.Reviewed by threadcount on 2018 via Tripadvisor
From arrival to departure (Monday through Friday), the staff was so very helpful and thoughtful. The food was abundant, frequent, excellent and quite a variety. The room was very comfortable and the bathroom had large walk in shower and a deep step in tub. The location is within walking distance of major historic attractions and the famous Forsyth Park. There is also cab service and trolley tour pickup and drop off service.Reviewed by feet222018 on 2018 via Tripadvisor
Did a lot of research on hotels/B&B's in Savannah (first time visit) before landing on the Gastonian. We were there to celebrate our 1st wedding anniversary so we splurged and chose the Oglethorpe Penthouse. I cannot say enough about the ambiance of the place and the (hate to sound clichéd, but it's true) Southern hospitality and charm of the hotel staff; everyone was there to ensure we were having a great time and that our needs were met. As a hotel manager myself, this is very important to the overall stay of any Guest.
The property itself is beautiful and set on a quiet street, with everything within a short walk from the hotel. Savannah is definitely a good walking town and probably the best mode of transportation if you want to soak up the atmosphere in the historical district. But more about the property--
It's the little touches that make the stay better than just a hotel room anywhere else: the genuine "Good Morning" from the staff, yummy cooked to order breakfast (keep making those biscuits!) complimentary champagne and strawberries in our room for Valentine's Day (not requested but a great touch-thanks!) helpful Concierge before and during our trip, attention to detail from Housekeeping, etc. It all added up to a great stay and a return visit one day.Reviewed by CAF_12 on 2018 via Tripadvisor
